Today marks just 50 days until Election Day. I want to reflect on what we are experiencing as a country and what we need to do in these next 50 days.

Last week, we learned that Trump knew very early in the year just how severe COVID-19 was and that Trump-appointed Health Department officials interfered at the CDC by influencing and changing weekly reports on COVID-19. Now, almost 200,000 have Americans lost their lives as Trump continues to downplay the virus and play political games instead of trusting scientists and health professionals.

But that wasn't all.

A Homeland Security official came forward and said he was pressured to alter intelligence reports about immigration, election security, and domestic terrorism. Our intelligence agencies have assessed that Russia is once again interfering in our elections. The President should fight all foreign interference in our election instead of alerting intelligence reports that put our national security at risk.

Every single week is chaotic under the Trump administration.

We need a President who works for the people and an administration who works on behalf of our best interests, not the interests of one person.

We need to elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as the next President and Vice President of the United States and take back the Senate with a Democratic majority. We cannot afford four more years of Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell.

If you've been wondering when to pitch in, now is the time. Make calls, send texts, talk to neighbors and friends and get involved in any way. Sign up to volunteer at JoeBiden.com or on my website HimesForCongress.com. Together, with hard work, we can ensure integrity and decency is restored to the highest levels of our government.

Thanks for all you're doing,
Jim
