Phone Bank We had our best night yet last Wednesday when we teamed up with Congressman Schneider’s campaign. WE broke all previous records on calls made in a night! Also, CONGRATULATIONS to the Troester Family!!! The Troesters are this week’s winner of the Call of Honor and will be receiving a “No Hate in Our State,” sticker. Will YOU be next week’s winner? As usual, every week until the election, we will have our phone bank hours: Thursday from 6 - 8 PM with a debrief at 8 PM Saturday/Sunday from 12 - 4 PM with an intermission at 2 PM. Remember, you can phone bank anytime and each and every call adds to our total. **EVERY 10 CALLS you make this week gets one entry into this week’s raffle. Friends and Family Letter In 2018 we built a campaign from the grassroots up. One of the strongest ways we were able to build support was through the personal word to friends and family from people like you. That’s why I’m asking supporters to help our campaign by sending a letter to their friends and family about why they’re supporting me. We can send you a template letter (that you can personalize). We would just need a list of people we can send it to—my campaign will take care of postage and all the logistics of sending the letter. You can sign up for this vital grassroots program HERE. Mary Apparel With the election edging closer and closer, name recognition is going to become more and more relevant. That is why this week only we are giving away free bumper stickers, magnets, and T-Shirts with the stipulation that after receiving your Mary apparel; you must take a photo out and about in your community and tag our social media pages with the #MaryforIL Fill out this FORM to get your Mary apparel. Social Media Social media is a great way to reach your friends and family. We encourage you to write up a post on #WhyMary. Make sure to tag us and bonuses will be given to those wearing Mary apparel if making videos! As an example, we wanted to share what one of our supporters wrote: "I really want Mary Edly-Allen to be reelected as our 51st District State Representative in Illinois. She is a former teacher. She knows the value of public education. She is endorsed by the Lake County Federation of Teachers, Illinois Retired Teachers, the Stand for Children organization, and the Illinois Federation of Teachers. She is a champion for women's rights. She is endorsed by Planned Parenthood, Lake County Democratic Women, Personal PAC, and Illinois NOW. She wants better healthcare for all and passed a law to cap insulin costs at $100 for a 30-day supply. She supports common-sense gun legislation and wants to keep guns out of schools. She is endorsed by the Sheriffs of Illinois PAC (one of only 5 Democrats to be endorsed in IL). She is an advocate for the environment. She supports the Clean Energy Jobs Act and is endorsed by the Sierra Club and the Illinois Environmental Council. Mary has denounced Mike Madigan and his alleged corruption. Along with colleagues from both sides of the aisle, she has proposed sweeping ethics reform measures in Springfield. Mary deserves two more years in office to continue the excellent work she is doing for her constituents. Mary's opponent Chris Bos is campaigning as an "independent." It is all over his mailers. He also claims that he will work on many issues that Mary is ALREADY working on. When asked about his platform he won't answer questions. He gives fuzzy answers at best. His website is not clear on what goals he has in office, just words with no explanation. On Facebook and Instagram he just screams "Madigan!" and "taxes!" Chris Bos is funded by the Republican party. He is running as a Republican. He is literally tied at the (sign) hips with the Republican candidate for the 6th District. His sign "partner" Jeanne Ives is a Republican extremist who hates teachers, teachers unions, the LGBTQ community, science, climate change, and people of color who are crying out for justice and change. For him to claim that he is "independent" is deceptive and misleading to voters. The only reason all of those giant signs are up and down most of Rand Road and Ela Road is that Mega-Republican Mr. Sfire of the Fidelity Group owns all of the prime retail property in town. I doubt that any of those businesses endorse Chris Bos. I'm sure they had no choice in the matter. Please reelect Mary Edly-Allen in the 51st.
