Knowing Gil’s record on gun safety and reform -- the direct action that he’s taken to effect change and his commitment to this important issue -- this rating isn’t astonishing.

For Gil, John, the fight against gun violence is personal. Gil’s grandfather was shot and killed during a grocery store robbery when his mom was only 10 years old. For that reason, and for the thousands of deaths that occur every year at the hands of gun violence, he is committed to tackling America’s gun violence crisis.

In Congress, Gil is at the forefront of the movement for gun reform. His platform calls for universal background checks, banning bump stocks, passing “red flag” laws to ensure guns don’t fall into the wrong hands, and closing the “boyfriend loophole” that increases the rates of domestic violence in our country.

John, in 2018, Gil was proud to run on a strong gun violence prevention platform against and beat an opponent with an A rating from the NRA. Now he’s running against that same opponent. And we’re confident that he’ll again prevail because his fight is on behalf of the people -- not special interests.
