If a Senate candidate says they stand for life, family, and freedom, asking them to put it in writing should be easy.

That is exactly what we are doing.

CitizenGO’s questionnaire asks Republican candidates in 35 Senate races eight direct questions. For each proposal, they must say whether they will vote for it and whether they will sponsor or cosponsor it.

No slogans. No carefully worded generalities. Just a clear record voters can return to after Election Day.

Ask the candidates to answer by October 4.

I will send the questionnaire on September 24, giving candidates ten days to answer. I will contact every campaign, follow up for responses, and deliver your signatures before Election Day.

The candidates are asking us to trust them. Before we do, let’s find out what they are actually prepared to fight for.

Candidates know what to say when they want our votes.

They tell us they stand for life. They promise to defend families. They say they will protect our freedoms.

But once Election Day is over, a promise from the campaign trail can become very hard to find.

So, we want it in writing.

I have prepared an eight-question survey for Republican U.S. Senate candidates in 35 races. The questions are direct:

“Will you protect babies born alive?”

“Will you support pregnancy resource centers and oppose federal funding for abortion providers?”

And whether they will defend women's and girls' sports, protect parental consent, oppose medical gender transitions for minors, and support the SAVE Act.

And for every proposal, we ask candidates to make two separate commitments: will you vote for it, and will you sponsor or cosponsor it?

That second answer tells us whether a candidate plans to lead or simply wait for someone else to do it.

On September 24, I will send the questionnaire to the Republican candidates in all 35 races. They will have ten days to respond.

John, this is the moment when candidates are listening. They are asking for our confidence, our support, and our votes.

We should ask for something in return: a straight answer.

I am not interested in trapping anyone with clever wording. Every candidate will receive the same eight questions and space to explain their answers. We are simply asking them to tell voters what they intend to do.

I will contact every campaign, follow up, and record every response. And before Election Day, I will deliver the petition signatures so the candidates can see how many voters expect an answer.

When the winners arrive in Washington, we will not have to rely on a slogan from an old campaign ad. We will have their own written commitments in front of us.

If they promised to vote for a bill, we will remind them.

But first, we have to get them to answer.

The deadline is October 4. After the election, our leverage is gone. 

Right now, candidates still need to earn our trust.
