Family fun returns to Folly

Ahoy, fellow seafarers. Mermaids & Mateys, one of Folly’s beloved annual fall family-friendly festivals, will return to Center Street this Saturday, Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The sea-inspired celebration features local vendors, a costume contest, and three stages of live music. So dress in your best mermaid and pirate gear and enjoy a day of fall activities.

This year’s festival supports the Alzheimer’s Association, so you can have fun and give back at the same time.

While the festival is free to attend, you must register.

Plans for more pickleball are on pause in one West Ashley neighborhood. Charleston City Council will review plans to build four new pickleball courts at Parkshore Park after neighbors shared concerns about potential noise. The proposal will be taken up again at the next council meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 13. (Charleston City Paper)

We think the glamorous and sophisticated Lisa Vanderpump would book a stay at The Dewberry, have dinner at Halls Chophouse, and take a private sunset sail — one that’s pet-friendly, of course.

Captain Kerry from "Below Deck" brings a professional, adventurous, yet laid-back vibe. We think he would stop at The Ordinary and would definitely have a room at The Cooper. He can't escape the nautical energy.
