Most folks don't realize I learned a lot about how to be a U.S. Senator through my time as a member of my local school board. I firmly believe that education is our great equalizer, and every child should have the chance to reach their full potential, whether they grow up in Big Sandy or Billings.
I know how important our public schools are to communities across Montana, and I know how important it is that we elect an advocate to the Office of Public Instruction in November to lead them.
That is why I endorsed Melissa Romano for State Superintendent of Public Instruction. She understands every child deserves access to a quality education, no matter where they live.
Melissa is an award winning public school teacher, Montana Teacher of the Year, union member, and mother of four. She will be an outstanding superintendent, but first she needs to win.
I've known Melissa for a long time and I can tell you she will serve Montanans well. While a lot has changed over the years, one thing has stayed the same: Melissa's passion for advocating for her students, and that is what she'll continue to do as our next state superintendent.
In 50 days, we have a chance to send a nationally recognized educator to the Office of Public Instruction who will advocate for our children, educators, and schools. But she needs our help to get there.
Melissa can win this race, but it won't be easy. I sure appreciate any help you can give to help my friend cross that finish line on November 3.
Thank you for your support,
Jon
