John -- I've said this before, but it's worth saying again: Politicians in Washington, D.C. didn't create COVID-19. But their incompetence, ignorance, and inexcusable denial of scientific and medical experts continue to make the problem worse and cost American lives. And now, thanks to Bob Woodward's tapes, we've learned that President Donald Trump knew -- all the way back in February -- that COVID-19 passes through the air. He knew how much more deadly it was than the flu. He knew, and he purposefully lied to the American people. Guess what Dan Sullivan was doing back in February? Tweeting that "many more people have died from the flu this season than from the #coronavirus" and repeating other misleading Trump administration talking points. Six months later, we've passed 190,000 deaths in the United States. Unemployment has skyrocketed. Working families are struggling. Does Sullivan regret his role in downplaying the virus? Is he angry at Trump for lying to the American people? Has he done anything to hold the President accountable? Has he passed any legislation to help workers who have watched their enhanced unemployment benefits expire? Nope. He's been silent and spineless. He's done nothing in the Senate. And he wouldn't even speak up when Trump allegedly disparaged our nation's military dead as "suckers" and "losers." Spineless Silent Sullivan. We cannot allow the failed status quo to continue. We are not only facing a national public health and economic emergency, but also a failure of leadership. I'll be a U.S. Senator who always stands up for Alaska and working families. I'll be a leader who is beholden to nobody but the voters. I'll use my background as a doctor to fix health care and get our economy going again. Spineless Silent Sullivan has $5.3 million in his war chest to mislead Alaskans about his record and attack our campaign with negative ads, but each donation we get helps us build a grassroots movement that is as resilient, independent, and tough as our people and our land. Together, we'll defeat Spineless Silent Sullivan and bring a prescription for change to Washington that delivers results for working people.
