How fun to be at the kickoff for Nate Sheets’s bus tour where one person after another took to the stage and proclaimed, “I first learned about Nate from True Texas Project.” That’s influence! Not only does it give Texas a great Ag Commissioner, but it gives TTP street cred. It tells candidates that if they want to win, they better fall in line with the priorities of True Texans across the state. Nate Sheets was virtually unknown when he decided to run for a statewide office against a man whose entire persona screams “Texas Agriculture!” I was brutally honest with Nate about his uphill battle from the get-go, and he took all my words to heart. He worked his butt off, he showed up at every True Texas event, spoke at all our satellites, listened, strategized, stayed humble… and WON! Way to go, True Texans. I know many of you played a part because you said so from the stage at the bus tour!
