In just a moment, I’m going to ask you to make a contribution to Justice Democrats. But first, please let me explain why your donations right now are so critical.

We need a Democratic Party that fights for its voters, not corporate donors. JD does the hard work of recruiting, training, fundraising, and organizing with bold progressive candidates. Only a select few organizations do this kind of work at the level we do.

On one side of this intra-party ideas battle you have the DCCC, which raises huge sums of money to support establishment candidates that keep the Democratic Party status quo alive.

Last month, the DCCC raised $22.6 million. Justice Dems raised about $300k.

Then there’s our side. We’re building a solid base of Justice Dems fighting for Medicare for All, Green New Deal, and racial justice in Congress, and we’re doing it with an incredibly low budget. But the truth is we could be accomplishing much more if we had more resources.

So when I saw this morning that our fundraising is down about 34% from where we were last month, I got worried about the future of our work. We need to be scaling UP, not DOWN. That’s why I have to ask for your help as we strive to reach our goal by the end of the month.

The cold hard truth is that there’s no one waiting in the wings to do this work if we don’t do it together. If people like you don’t give, our progressive movement could be locked out of power for decades to come. So when you give of your time, talents, and treasure, it really makes a big difference.

Our ideas have the moral authority. And we don’t necessarily have to match dollar-for-dollar what the DCCC raises, because we can win on tighter budgets with the power of our vision. But if we can’t even compete 10-to-1 in fundraising on some of these key races, voters won’t even get a chance to hear from us.

So look, I need your help. As of today, we’ve raised $81,347 this month. Last month at this time we had raised $124,443. That’s a 34% decrease when we really need to be building up.
