Dear John,
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, pregnant workers were often denied the simplest of accommodations, such as a stool to sit on during a long shift, a bottle of water at a workstation, or access to proper protective equipment. But given the COVID-19 pandemic these last six months, it’s essential that employers be required to provide accommodations to their pregnant workers, many of whom are on the front lines of this crisis.
It’s critical that the House of Representatives vote YES this week to finally pass the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, which would ensure pregnant workers get accommodations when they need them—and keep their jobs when they need that income most. Tell your representative: support the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act NOW.
Pregnant workers need workplace protections enabling gender equity, healthy pregnancies, and the economic security of pregnant and parenting women and their families. Take action now to help make the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act a reality!
Sincerely,
Sarah David Heydemann
