In the next few months, the UK government will decide whether to terminate the NHS’s £330 million contract with the militarised US tech giant Palantir.
Ministers can trigger a break clause in the deal in January to end the NHS's reliance on this company. But with Palantir pushing hard for even greater access to our public services, we urgently need your support to build the campaign against them. Palantir is a US tech company that makes tools and software used for surveillance and AI warfare – and has been accused of profiting from serious human rights abuses. It ramped up sales of militarised tech to Israel in the middle of its genocidal attacks on Gaza. It has provided tools to ICE, Trump’s violent anti-migrant militia. And its billionaire co-founder Peter Thiel has said the NHS “makes people sick” and even criticised votes for women.
Despite its dangerous track record, the company landed a £330 million deal with the NHS in 2023. This is one of at least 35 public contracts Palantir has been given in the UK. Involving the big tech oligarchy in our public sector is always a bad idea. But Palantir’s record makes it particularly dangerous, not least when the NHS deal gives it access to sensitive health data.
The next few months are pivotal. The UK government is expected to decide by December at the latest whether to scrap the NHS contract. More than 100 MPs have already called for this to happen – and public mobilisations against the company are growing. If we can get Palantir out of the NHS, it will pave the way for keeping it out of all our public services.

I am optimistic about this campaign. Strong public opposition has already kept Palantir out of health in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. The next few months are crucial if we’re to kick the company out of the NHS in England too.
On 1 October, we’re supporting an International Day of Action. And we encourage everyone opposed to Palantir embedding itself in our public services to take part. Across the country, there will be protests at hospitals, MP offices and local councils, demonstrating the growing public opposition to this US tech giant.
