Glaciers are melting, islands are sinking, and forests are burning. Climate change is touching every single inch of our planet — including right here in New York. The sea level in our harbor is actually a foot higher than a century ago.

If we learned anything from Superstorm Sandy, it’s that we’ve got to build more resilient infrastructure that can withstand more powerful storms — because these extreme weather events are here to stay.

Climate change is real, pressing, and becoming more extreme the longer we wait to act. Will you join Hakeem and take the pledge to preserve our planet for ourselves and future generations?

The threat climate change poses to our environment, economy, and national security couldn’t be clearer. Yet we have a president and Congressional Republicans who not only believe that climate change is a hoax, but are also actively pursuing policies that make a grave situation even worse.

The same week that Trump skipped meetings with G7 leaders on climate change, his administration announced plans to roll back methane regulations — a very dangerous greenhouse gas. This takes us a giant step backward in the fight to combat climate change on top of Trump’s disastrous decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement.

In honor of the anniversary of the Paris Climate Agreement, let’s reaffirm our commitment to our children and grandchildren and pledge to leave this planet better than we found it. Take the pledge today.
