The sky in the Bay Area was the wrong color last week because of large, deadly wildfires.
Millions of acres up-and-down the west coast are on fire.
In California alone, wildfires have destroyed more than 3.2 million acres of land — 10 times greater than in a typical wildfire season. For scale, that is the equivalent of setting the entire state of Connecticut on fire.
Over and over again, people describe these scenes as apocalyptic.
And it is time that our government start treating the climate crisis like the existential threat that it is. That is why Ed is leading the fight for the Green New Deal, but he cannot do it alone.
The Green New Deal is our only chance to save the planet. Incremental change will not be enough to give young people the livable planet they deserve.
