This week, we highlight record-breaking endorsement of women in Morris County, the True Blue Club, the Board of Education Advocacy Training Series, and more!

Morris County Candidates Earn Endorsements

Elect Women NJ [[link removed]] recruits, supports, and invests in Democratic women running for office, helping more women compete, win, and build careers in public service. The organization has announced its 2026 endorsements , with a record 18 Morris County women earning support this year.

These local races matter because mayors, committee members, and council members make decisions that directly affect residents’ everyday lives: setting municipal priorities, approving budgets, overseeing development and essential services, and working directly with residents to solve community problems. They are also an important entry point into public service and a path to higher office.

Women hold only about 20% of New Jersey’s mayoralties ; electing more women to committee and council helps build the bench for future mayors, legislators, and statewide leaders. By investing in candidates at the local level, Elect Women NJ is helping communities elect strong leaders now while expanding the pipeline of Democratic women ready to lead at every level of government.

If Democrats want to win, we have to organize year-round.

We can't show up a few months before Election Day and expect to build strong local committees, recruit great candidates, train volunteers, reach voters, and compete in every town.

Winning elections starts long before a campaign begins.

So how do we do that? By building a permanent Democratic organization right here in Morris County, one that is working every month of the year to strengthen our local parties, support candidates, and build the infrastructure Democrats need to win.

You may not realize it, but the Morris County Democratic Committee is a volunteer organization funded 100% by donations. Our chair and party leadership aren't paid. We don't receive government funding or a guaranteed operating budget. If we want to keep the doors open and the lights on, we have to raise that money ourselves every single month.

True Blue donations pay for the things that make year-round organizing possible : a (very) staff, rent, insurance, voter data, technology, and organizing tools. And they help us put resources where they matter most: supporting Democratic candidates and local committees with training, communications, voter outreach, organizing, and direct campaign support.

And there's a reason to make some of your political giving local. The closer your dollars stay to home, the more power they have to shape the government that most directly affects your life.

A $30 monthly donation can disappear into the multimillion-dollar budget of a presidential campaign. Keep that $30 here in Morris County, and it can help elect the council member deciding whether an ICE detention facility or AI data center comes to your community; the county commissioner making decisions about the services you rely on every day; or the state legislator deciding whose interests come first—yours or those of big-money donors.

We know that not everyone wants to phone bank or canvass, and not everyone wants to join their municipal committee or run for office. But everyone should be willing to invest in that work, because we all benefit when good candidates step forward, when strong campaigns are built, and when our communities have leaders who represent our values.

New Jersey Democrats delivered a major new set of protections for children online last week, when Governor Mikie Sherrill signed a three-bill package designed to protect kids’ privacy and address the harmful effects of social media.

The new laws give parents stronger tools while recognizing that families shouldn’t have to take on powerful technology companies alone. The legislation was sponsored by Democrats across both chambers, including Senators Raj Mukherji and Linda Greenstein and Assemblymembers Andrea Katz, Luanne Peterpaul, Cody Miller, and our own LD-25 Assemblywoman Marisa Sweeney .

Trump’s pay-to-play corruption knows no bounds [[link removed]] . Companies that contributed to his ballroom have received more than $50 BILLION in no-bid government contracts. This is outrageous. It demands investigation and accountability. Instead, a Republican-controlled Congress refuses to provide either. This is one more reason Democrats must win the midterms: to restore real oversight, enforce accountability, and put a check on a corrupt, out-of-control president.

In 2025, Tom Kean Jr. voted for a law that cuts Medicaid by more than $1 trillion, adds trillions to the deficit , and puts Medicare at risk of automatic cuts under federal budget law. Now he’s using our tax dollars to pretend he’s defending these programs.

Tell Kean: “Congressman, you voted to cut healthcare. Now you're using my tax dollars to pretend you’re protecting it. Mr. Kean, this isn’t make-believe. Your votes have real consequences for real people. Stop using my money to lie about your record.”

Since Daniel Webster’s first page appointment in 1829, the U.S. Senate has welcomed young students to the Senate floor to help carry out the day-to-day operations of the Senate.

Pages play a vital role in supporting Senators, including serving as messengers carrying bills, amendments, or documents, preparing the Senate Chambers for daily business, and assisting in the cloakrooms.
