Friend --

On September 9, the Pennsylvania Democrats (PADEMs) asked the Supreme Court to remove Presidential Candidate Howie Hawkins from the ballot.  Despite his nomination having been fully approved by the Department of State and a lower court decision requiring Hawkin’s to be on the ballot the PADEMs continue to meddle in the November election.

The PADEMs lost their challenges to the Green Party of Pennsylvania’s (GPPA) nominating papers and could only celebrate the removal of Angela Walker from the Vice Presidential office. Their operatives have now launched a smear campaign that attempts to blame the Green Party for delaying the printing of mail-in ballots.  However, it is their own backdoor tactics that are interfering with the election.

It’s not too late to fight this attempt at voter suppression.  Donate to our legal fund to support our defense of our presidential ballot line. <[link removed]>

This challenge to the Pennsylvania Greens’ ballot line comes on the heels of the GPPA’s plea to the Governor and Secretary of State asking for relief from signature-gathering due to COVID-19.  During the global health emergency, the Greens were expected to collect thousands of signatures for our nominating papers.  Volunteers were put on the frontline of this pandemic while the old party candidates sailed by, having already ensured ballot access for themselves.  Along the way the Pennsylvania State Department gave itself exception after exception of the law in order to protect its employees.  The Governor’s executive orders allowed for relaxed requirements for the old parties while restricting the opportunity for those outside of the political establishment.

We cannot allow the PADEMs to use the COVID-19 pandemic as a weapon against democracy,  nor can we permit the audacious claims against our nominating papers to stand ground.  As the PADEMs double down on their unwarranted intervention of the voice of the people, the GPPA needs your support to prove that their efforts are unjust.  Help by donating <[link removed]> or sharing this news at www.gpofpa.org/legal <[link removed]>.
