Friends,
Over the weekend, a man with a gun killed seven people in Odessa, Texas. Last month, we saw two horrific mass shootings within 24 hours of each other.
Concert venues, schools, parks, nightclubs, places of worship, shopping centers, even people's own homes -- no place will feel truly safe until our country takes real steps to ensure guns are safely and responsibly owned.
Thoughts and prayers are not enough; we need leaders who will take action. That's why, as your congresswoman, Dr. Kim Schrier voted to pass multiple bills in the House to help address the epidemic of gun violence in our communities. But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has refused to hold a vote on those common-sense measures in the Senate.
If you agree that it's past time to take action, join Kim in calling on Mitch McConnell to bring gun violence prevention bills to a vote in the Senate.

Since taking office in January, Kim has co-sponsored and helped pass common-sense legislation that would require universal background checks on ALL gun sales and allow gun violence to be studied as the public health crisis it so clearly is, and she has also supported Extreme Risk Protection Orders or "red flag laws."
But Kim and her Democratic colleagues can't take on this fight alone, friends. We need to let the Senate know it's time to act.
So please, add your name now to call on Mitch McConnell to take action so we can finally end the gun epidemic in our country.
