NAFCU's virtual annual Congressional Caucus kicks off this afternoon with welcome remarks from NACFU President and CEO Dan Berger, agency updates from CFPB Director Kathy Kraninger and Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director Dr. Mark Calabria, and more. On Capitol Hill, lawmakers will continue discussions related to coronavirus pandemic relief efforts.
NCUA publishes FOM rule to resolve litigation issues [ [link removed] ]
The NCUA today published in the Federal Register its final rule to resolve litigation surrounding its 2016 field of membership (FOM) rule. The rule is set to take effect 30 days after publication, or Oct. 14.
NAFCU files amicus brief to support narrow 'autodialer' definition [ [link removed] ]
NAFCU Friday joined with several other organizations to file an amicus brief with the Supreme Court arguing that a broad interpretation of what qualifies as an autodialer violates the First Amendment and severely limits businesses' ability to effectively communicate important information to members and customers.
Fed to offer PPPLF updates during 'Ask The Fed' webinar [ [link removed] ]
The Federal Reserve announced it will host a webinar through its "Ask the Fed" program for all eligible Paycheck Protection Program Liquidity Facility (PPPLF) participants, or Small Business Administration qualified lenders, on Sept. 18. The webinar will provide a comprehensive update on reporting requirements, as well as information on the paydown process for PPPLF participants that receive loan paydown payments on paycheck protection program (PPP) loans that are pledged to the PPPLF.
CPI continues slow rise despite uncertainties around consumer demand [ [link removed] ]
In August, overall consumer prices rose 0.4 percent on a seasonally-adjusted basis. Additionally, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the overall consumer price index (CPI) grew 1.3 percent over the 12-month period.
