The Amazon rainforest is burning, Greenland’s ice sheet is melting and the old-line parties are still too tied up in corporate interests and political games to solve the climate crisis.
These are just three of the reasons why I’m leaving the NDP to run under the Green banner.
Hi, we haven’t met yet. My name is Pierre Nantel. I’m a two-term MP for Longueuil–Saint-Hubert. And I’m running as a Green in October because Elizabeth May is the only leader with the right approach to move Canada forward on climate.
The climate crisis is the single biggest issue of our time. This will be our last election to solve it before the damage is beyond repair. But to usher in a new era of global climate leadership, it’s going to take all of us working together. Can you power our grassroots movement with a $10.00 donation to our campaign?
Our planet can’t afford another four years under pro-oil parties. Weak climate targets and insufficient incremental change will doom our future.
Elizabeth will make the difference. I’ve seen it. After working with her in the House for the past 8 years on the climate emergency, I know she has the expertise and drive to turn Canada into a global climate leader and protect our future for generations to come.
But she’s up against stiff odds. The more attention our movement gets, the more directed attacks the other parties will throw.
And I know firsthand just how organized the other parties are, and just how deep their pockets go. Their staff and budgets more than triple ours. They can use these resources to spread misinformation about our candidates.
That’s okay. We have you. And we have momentum on our side. I hear it from our communities as I knock on doors and talk with my neighbours. Voters are ready to go Green, but our campaign needs your help to reach them.
