John,
Hurricane Dorian is wreaking havoc across the Atlantic.
The Amazon is still burning to the ground.
Raging wildfires. Devastating floods. Record-breaking heat waves.
And yet...the Democratic National Committee straight up refuses to hold a climate debate.
So, CNN stepped up and tonight, they’re hosting the top ten Democratic presidential candidates for a seven-hour-long climate town hall Q and A.
Make no mistake: this happened because of you. Because your voice demanded that the media and politicians bring attention to the most important issue of our lifetimes. Because hundreds of DFA members like you participated in a tweet storm pressuring CNN to focus on the climate catastrophe during the second primary debate.
But we can’t let up now. Progress will only happen if we elect strong leaders ready to treat climate change like the emergency it is with solutions big enough to match the scale of the problem.
That’s why DFA proudly aligns ourselves with progressives in Congress like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in the House and Bernie Sanders in the Senate who have repeatedly called on Congress to declare a climate emergency and propose bold policies like the Green New Deal to address it.
Donate $10 or more now to help us re-elect climate leaders like AOC in 2020 >>
Thanks for doing your part. When we work together, our voices are louder and more powerful than those trying to drown us out.
