'Violent threats' spray-painted at Anchorage Planned Parenthood clinic

Reproductive rights are human rights. Abortion is health care. And those who provide abortion, reproductive care, and other services at Planned Parenthood are health care providers.

These facts make the recent attacks of vandalism at the Anchorage Planned Parenthood clinic all the more disturbing and disheartening.

As a doctor myself, I know what it is like to go to work every day to serve my community and keep them healthy -- and that is exactly what the doctors, employees, and volunteers at Planned Parenthood are there to do.

But instead of being met with the respect and praise they deserve, they are met with threats -- violent ones.

Let me make one thing very clear, John:You deserve to make your medical decisions with your doctor, not the government.

These health care providers -- and all the people who seek care at Planned Parenthood -- deserve a leader who understands the importance of these services and will fight for reproductive rights.

We know that Dan Sullivan is not, and will never be, this leader. He's voted to block reproductive health care and defund Planned Parenthood time and time again, and now he is remaining silent in the face of these recent attacks on the Anchorage clinic.

Unlike Dan, I promise to always stand up for your right to make your own medical decisions. And that's why I am especially proud to be endorsed by Planned Parenthood Action Fund.
