We know so many of our members enjoy One Nation’s liquor range and
we are pleased to announce some exciting news.
In 2021, One Nation launched its ‘Please Explain’ gin in a joint
partnership with award winning Sunshine Coast distiller, CAVU.
The gin’s success provided the finances to launch One Nation’s
hugely popular ‘Please Explain’ cartoon series.
Rum and vodka soon followed, providing One Nation a passive revenue
stream of $528,983.79 in licensing arrangements.
As One Nation grows, so too does our need to increase staffing
numbers and move into larger premises. That’s why the One Nation
executive approved a reinvestment package to establish Small Batch
Brewing - a micro distillery managed by three of its national
executive members.
In an effort to minimise costs, including commercial rent and
outgoings, it was unanimously agreed that One Nation would loan Small
Batch Brewing the establishment costs for a shed and distilling
equipment, which could be placed on land owned by a member of the
executive.
Given One Nation’s Master Distiller is located in Yeppoon, the
decision was made to build the 8m x 8m (64 m²) Colorbond shed in
Yeppoon on Mr Ashby’s private property.
The shed has recently been completed. (Final inspection 22nd July
2026).
Small Batch Brewing has engaged liquor licensing consultants to
finalise licensing and ATO requirements before commencing production
in 2027.
One Nation anticipates licensing revenue of between $400,000 -
$500,000 per annum based on projected sales. This represents a
significant increase in alcohol revenue from our average of
$105,796.00 each year.
We are confident that our members will see the business opportunity
that will drive stronger revenue and assist in the funding of future
campaigns.
While Small Batch Brewing may appear on the surface as
unconventional, One Nation are not alone in our investment
decisions.
Labor have several investment arms, including Licensed Clubs with
pokies and commercial premises.
The Liberals have the Cormack Foundation and Parakeelia which
provides parliamentary offices with software and data management.
The Greens, Liberals, Labor and Nationals have historically
produced their own types of alcohol, however none as successful as One
Nation.
We look forward to providing you further updates on the progress of
Small Batch Brewing and anticipate a special joint partner spirit
ahead of Christmas.
