Hi Jack,

If Democrats want to take back the Senate, we need to net just FOUR seats.

So today, I want to talk to you about the FIVE strong, pro-choice leaders (and fellow moms!) who will get the job done: Dr. Barbara Bollier (Kansas), Sara Gideon (Maine), Theresa Greenfield (Iowa), MJ Hegar (Texas), and Paulette Jordan (Idaho).

I’m also going to ask you to support their campaigns. I’m teaming up with EMILY’s List to help raise $125,000 for these five candidates before midnight, September 14. We’re in the home stretch of the campaign—please give what you can to help Barbara, Sara, Theresa, MJ and Paulette win their races, flip the Senate and make history.

Let me tell you a bit about each of of these phenomenal women:

After a career as a doctor, Barbara Bollier ran for the Kansas state legislature as a Republican and was elected in 2010. But she found herself alienated for her support of reproductive rights, Medicaid expansion, and funding for K-12 schools. Tired of the Kansas GOP’s hard-line rhetoric, she switched parties in 2018 and became a proud Democrat. Barbara is EXACTLY the kind of leader that can win in Kansas—and polls show this race is a dead heat!

Sara Gideon is serving her second term as Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives where she has strengthened and protected women’s access to reproductive health care, passed automatic voter registration, and led Maine’s fight against the opioid epidemic. The latest poll has Sara virtually tied with her opponent—we can win this race.

Growing up on a farm, Theresa Greenfield learned the values that make her the perfect candidate to flip Iowa’s Senate seat. After Theresa’s first husband tragically died on the job as a union electrical worker, Social Security and workers compensation helped her through tough spots as a single mom. She understands—better than most—just how critical these programs are.

MJ Hegar is a combat veteran who has a Purple Heart and fought for women to be able to take on greater roles in the military. The latest Public Policy Poll shows Joe Biden leading Trump in Texas by one point—48% to 47%. With Joe and MJ at the top of the ticket, this is the year we can finally turn Texas blue.

Paulette Jordan is a trailblazing leader. She was the youngest person ever elected to the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Council and the first Native woman nominated for governor in U.S. history. No state has ever elected a Native American woman to the Senate, and Paulette has what it takes to make history as the first.

We can take back the Senate majority this November, Jack—and with it, we can build a powerful firewall of women standing up to the GOP’s reckless agenda.

But in order for them to win their tight races against well-funded Republican opponents, they'll need support from each and every one of us.

Please, split a contribution between Barbara, Sara, Theresa, MJ and Paulette’s campaigns today. Join me in investing in women’s leadership when it matters most.

Thank you,
Kirsten
