ANNOUNCING OUR 2020 VOTER GUIDES
The upcoming election may be the most important one of our lives—and in California, it’s starting in less than three weeks! Mail ballots go out on October 5th, so make sure you’re ready.
We did the research so you don’t have to—you can find out how and where to vote, how to check your registration status, read our voting guides, and more on our Vote page at [link removed][UNIQID].
Check your registration status here. ([link removed][UNIQID])
Everyone in California gets a mail ballot, and once you’ve filled it out and signed the return envelope, you can either mail it back, drop it off early at the City Hall Voting Center ([link removed][UNIQID]) , or drop it off at your nearest polling location on election day. If you’ve never voted by mail before or need a refresher, we’ve got all the information you need.
Make a plan NOW to vote—here’s everything you need to know. ([link removed][UNIQID])
The presidential election this year is the most consequential and anxiety-inducing we have ever seen. The state and city elections are also critical, with over a dozen extremely important propositions on the ballots this year.
The ISF Ballot Proposition team reviewed the California and San Francisco ballot propositions for November 2020. Below are summaries and our recommendations for each. You can find all the ballot propositions at [link removed][UNIQID] and [link removed][UNIQID]. (The city’s voter information pamphlet ([link removed][UNIQID]) isn’t up yet but is coming September 28.)
How did we reach our recommendations? The ISF Ballot Proposition team researched each ballot proposition, including the arguments for and against it. We weighed whether the effects of the proposition align with our Mission, Vision, and Values ([link removed][UNIQID]) . We also researched the stances of our allies and partner groups on the propositions. Finally, after commentary, our members voted on the endorsements in the voter guides.
On the California ballot, we’re urging you to vote YES on Props 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 23, 24, and 25. We’re urging you to vote NO on Props 19, 20, and 22. Read about the propositions and the reasons for our endorsements in our California Ballot Propositions Guide ([link removed][UNIQID]) .
On the San Francisco ballot, we’re endorsing Props A through G, I through L, and RR. Read about the propositions and the reasons for our endorsements in our San Francisco Ballot Propositions Guide ([link removed][UNIQID]) .
When it’s time to vote, we’ve got you covered! Use our cheat sheet ([link removed][UNIQID]) with each ballot prop and our vote.
All ready to vote? Then it’s time to help get as many people to the polls as possible. Indivisible SF participates in phone banks, text banks, letter-writing and more all the way up to election day. Find all the opportunities, plus a handy calendar, at [link removed][UNIQID].
Worried about voter suppression, gerrymandering, and other shenanigans in the upcoming election? We are too. But borrowing from our friends in the immigrants’ rights community, our mantra is “Power, Not Panic.” You can help by staying informed and volunteering on election day. We wrote a blog on what is likely to happen and what you can do about it. Read it here. ([link removed][UNIQID])
