Campaign Update: Salvemos Punta Conejo

The campaign to protect the famous right-hand point break in Oaxaca, Mexico continues to gain ground and build opposition to a project that could destroy this beloved surf ecosystem. In just a couple of months, the petition started by Save The Waves has amassed over 250,000 opposition signatures.

Many things remain unclear about the project, including whether an Environmental Impact Report has been completed. It is evident, however, that the Federal Government is dead set on completing the Isthmus of Tehuantepec rail corridor which includes the new and integral industrial port in Salina Cruz.

Save The Waves remains committed to working with our local partners to ensure that the incredible surf ecosystem of Punta Conejo is protected.
