John,
Last week's Tribute to Essential Workers — an hour-long broadcast event paying tribute to the workers risking it all to keep us safe — was a huge success. Thank you to all of the amazing essential workers who shared their stories, and to the activists, public officials and celebrities who lent their voices and their platforms to this incredible moment.
Together, we honored the people that we’ve lost during this pandemic and we reaffirmed our commitment to fight for the working people who are essential to our economy and society. These essential workers are disproportionately Black and other women of color, immigrant, and other communities in the margins. Last week's event reaffirmed our responsibility and opportunity to create an inclusive future that ensures that everyone is treated with dignity and respect — through raising pay and workplace standards, improving safety, and increasing worker power in the workplace.
If you weren't able to join us, or simply want to rewatch, you can view the recording on our website.
Thank you for all that you do,
Ai-jen Poo, Executive Director
