First, some good news:

Since Friday, our movement has raised more than $75,000 to support the organizations working with families displaced or impacted by the devastating Oregon wildfires.

So far, more than 1,200 people have pitched in to support Oregonians in crisis.

But tragically, the fires have continued to grow, destroying homes, businesses, and livelihoods; driving thousands more people from their homes; and poisoning the air for hundreds of miles around.

These past few days, I've been home in Oregon meeting with those impacted by these fires. These families have lost everything, but what they haven't lost is their spirit.

To those of you who have already contributed, thank you for doing so. Unfortunately as these fires grow, that means the need for water, shelter, food, medical care, and other critical supplies will too. Please contribute now to make sure the frontline relief organizations have the resources to meet the growing need for supplies and support.

My home state of Oregon is currently witnessing unprecedented destruction as a result of some of the largest fires in our state's history.

Nearly one million acres of Oregon have burned.

Hundreds of families have lost their homes and businesses entirely.

Thousands of Oregonians have been forced from their homes.

Hundreds of thousands more are preparing to evacuate.

Millions are suffering from hazardous air quality and smoke.

And most terrifying of all:

Despite ongoing round-the-clock efforts from thousands of firefighters, most of the fires are still zero percent contained.

The relief organizations on the front lines are already stretched thin, and they'll need all the resources they can get to provide families with food, water, shelter, clothing, and information as the fires spread.

My team has identified a group of nonprofits working to support the families and communities hardest hit by this tragedy. If you're able, please consider contributing now to make sure those families know our grassroots movement won't leave anyone behind in their hour of need.

The situation on the ground changes moment to moment. As it develops, I'll keep you informed about the containment efforts and ways we can support families and first responders.
