VAYD Day of Action: Calls to Colorado for HickenlooperIn keeping with flipping the Senate, Colorado needs your help! Making phone calls from home is one of the best ways to help elect Democrats up and down the ballot while staying socially distant. We especially welcome first-time volunteers, who would like to join a historic grassroots movement across our country. All you need is internet access and a laptop or desktop computer. Before your shift starts on Sunday, September 13th at 2pm, your local organizer will reach out to give you all the training you need to start phone banking. We will get you set up, walk through how our phone banks work, give you a script to help guide your conversations, and answer any questions you might have. REMINDER: all campaign activity in official VAYD Days of Action count for twice as many points. Join us!
AYD “Feed Our Community” AFAC Food DriveSeptember is Hunger Action Month! Join AYD as we host a food drive for the Arlington Food Assistance Center. We will be setting up our collection stand in the Giant parking lot at 2901-11 S Glebe Rd, Arlington, VA on Sunday, September 13th from 10am - 5pm and will be following all COVID-19 social distancing guidelines so come on by if you can! What should you donate? AFAC accepts most unopened, unexpired, and unprepared foods, including perishable items. AFAC is most in need of the following Heart Healthy items:

AYD Blue Clues TriviaJoin your fellow Arlington Young Democrats in taking a break from phone banking efforts with Blue Clues, a virtual pub quiz which is sure to challenge your brains as we move into the heart of election season. Join us for the first one on Wednesday, September 16th at 7 pm!
Want to get a leg up on trivia? You're in luck! Your phone bank numbers for AYD and VAYD will go into the bank for your trivia team. Show up to any VAYD or AYD phone bank and we'll make sure your points are counted in the next quiz. What's more, those points translate into direct action. Each quiz will have cash prizes that the top three teams can send to the bank for a charity, non-profit, or campaign of their choice. Join Virginia Young Democrats on Saturday, September 19th from 12pm - 2pm as we partner with NC Dems to call voters across North Carolina to confirm their plan to vote! Training will be provided, and all you'll need to make calls is your phone and computer or laptop. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or volunteering for the first time, now is the time to act!
