got good news and bad news.
The good news: depending on the poll, we have a narrow lead over Mike
Rogers.
Having a slim advantage in one of the seats that decides control of the
United States Senate while running a 100% people-powered campaign focused
on passing Medicare for All proves what we already knew to be true: we’ve
got the right message to meet this moment.
The bad news: the biggest MAGA spenders have committed $70 million to flip
Michigan red, and their attack ads could overwhelm us if we let them.
That MAGA cash buys ads Michiganders will see repeatedly between now and
November, and many of those ads are trying to smear my name in bad faith —
because that’s all the Republicans have to run on.
John, I’ll be
honest with you. The only way we win in November and make good on that
polling is if we see a massive surge of grassroots fundraising right now.
I’ve never taken a dime of corporate PAC money, and I’m not about to start
now. I’m counting on members of this team to fuel our campaign so that we
can run ads of our own, reach voters across Michigan, and respond to the
GOP’s attacks before they stick.
