Folks,

While Senator Hyde-Smith is still missing in action, she has trotted out yet another surrogate. This time, Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves took a swing at me — but he missed.

Gov. Reeves said I would vote to shut down our economy again, when I’ve been on the record for months now saying NO to any new state shutdowns, because that horse is out of the barn.

But I do have facts to recite as to why and how America and Mississippi are still suffering from such a bad situation.

We should have listened to the medical experts early on and followed their advice. Cindy Hyde-Smith never took this pandemic seriously.

As a sitting senator, Hyde-Smith is in a position of power to help our state and country fight this pandemic and take real action. But she has done nothing. She said the pandemic would blow over in two weeks. She voted against additional relief for our workers. And then took off for summer recess.

Now she wants to make false accusations about my record?

Folks, I was born and raised in Mississippi, and I love this state with all my heart. If I’m elected to become the next U.S. Senator from Mississippi, I will listen to the medical doctors and follow science. I will listen to my own constituents during this indescribably difficult time. And I will take bold action to help us recover from coronavirus and build back stronger.

If you’re with me, help our campaign have the resources to fight back against partisan attacks and continue to mobilize voters over the next few weeks. Will you please pitch in $10 before you close your inbox?

I encourage my opponent to accept her invitation to debate this, and the other key issues important to Mississippians, before voters make their decision on November 3.

Until then, we’ve got to keep up our people-powered campaign, keep masking up, and keep organizing to bring the change that Mississippians need and deserve.

Thanks for all you do.
