Our Patron Steve Backshall's message in support of the World Land Trust

"All of the world's major tropical rainforests... Sumatra, Borneo, New Guinea, Madagascar, Congo... exactly the same thing is happening every single year."

Our patron Steve Backshall has recorded a video message ([link removed]) on behalf of WLT emphasising the reality of the situation: although catastrophic, the fires are part of a bigger, wider issue, affecting highly threatened forest habitats beyond the Amazon Basin – including those in reserves managed by WLT partners.

There have been many questions about the Amazon Rainforest fires in recent weeks, demonstrating the high level of interest around the world in the well-being of this critical habitat.

We've answered some of the questions we have been asked most frequently to provide details about the impact of wildfires and how you can help.

** Coming soon...

Big Match Fortnight is coming!
On 3 October 2019, World Land Trust is launching a major new appeal that will transform scorched earth to forest haven with an ambitious reforestation project in Vietnam, home to the Red-shanked Douc. Help us restore 246 acres of land laid bare by Agent Orange during the Vietnam War.

During Big Match Fortnight, 3-17 October, all donations made to our appeal will be doubled thanks to match funding pledged in advance by a small group of generous donors!
