Democrat,
This week has proven once again that this is truly the most important election of our lifetime. We all need to do everything we can right now to win, because it’s up to us -- we can’t rely on the polls, we can’t rely on the political pundits, we can’t rely on the echo chambers. We need to put everything we have into the next 53 days to defeat Donald Trump and win this election.
Here at NJDSC, it’s all hands on deck. That’s why we’ve launched a new Volunteer Hub to connect you with Democratic candidates up and down the state who need your support to bring change to their communities. The Volunteer Hub includes multiple opportunities to take part in the Biden-Harris campaign, as well as an interactive system to sort participating candidates by county and find out where you can make a difference.
While his overwhelming focus remains on directing our response and recovery from COVID-19, Governor Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy are also taking an active role in helping elect Joe Biden as our next President. This week, the Murphys hosted a fundraising event featuring Jon Bon Jovi that raised over $2.5 million for the Biden-Harris campaign.
Governor Murphy has also continued fighting for equality and reducing the racial wealth gap that the pandemic has exposed even more fully than it was before. With his innovative Baby Bonds proposal, the Governor is working to give thousands of children born in the Garden State a helping hand and a head start while reducing historic disparities. This week the New York Times Editorial Board publicly supported Governor Murphy’s plan, giving serious momentum to the proposal and moving New Jersey one step closer to being the first state in the nation to adopt this policy.
For up to date information regarding new cases and directives regarding coronavirus, visit the state’s dedicated COVID-19 Information Hub or follow Governor Murphy’s official pages on social media.

The Biden campaign is kicking into higher gear here in our state, and this week I was proud to see our very own Nabila Baptiste take on the role of State Director for New Jersey. Nabila has served our party as Deputy Executive Director and in other roles over the last two years, and while she will be taking a leave of absence to take on this new role she isn’t going far and we will be working closely with her to marshal our resources towards helping win this election. Congratulations Nabila!
Thank you,
Chairman John Currie
P.S. -- Yesterday marked 19 years since the tragic events of 9/11. On behalf of the NJDSC, I want to convey our everlasting gratitude to the first responders who gave everything they had to save people and to everyone who has lost on that fateful day. We will Never Forget.
Paid for by the New Jersey Democratic State Committee.
