Senator Mitch McConnell's COVID-19 "relief" plan failed to pass through the Senate this week, John. And it's no wonder why.
Unlike the HEROES Act, McConnell's replacement plan leaves out relief for state and local governments. It doesn't offer anything to renters and homeowners desperate for assistance.
Worst of all, McConnell — a politician worth over $22.5 million — believes that offering working families $300 a week is enough to get by. This is disgraceful and turns a blind eye to what the American people need.
We need to gather 900 signatures by TONIGHT at midnight demanding McConnell hold a vote on the HEROES Act to rush relief to working families. Will you add your name?
Dwight and House Democrats passed the HEROES Act four months ago to rush necessary relief to small businesses, families, and essential workers. But McConnell has sat on the HEROES Act for MONTHS.
Over 192,000 Americans (and counting) have lost their lives from COVID-19. Millions of workers have lost their jobs. And the United States Postal Service is struggling to stay afloat with an election less than two months away. We need relief, and we need it now.
