When a hurricane-force derecho rips across Iowa in the midst of a pandemic, it certainly ranks among the worst of times. Iowans rolled up their sleeves, put one foot in front of the other and get to work rebuilding.
I recently completed my 40th year of my 99 county meetings. Holding in-person meetings provides a reality check on what really matters in people’s lives, and drives my effort to solve problems.
Senate Democrats’ choice to obstruct targeted coronavirus relief legislation puts politics over people. Their desire to harm the president’s standing is clearly greater than their desire to provide needed relief to families and support rural America.
