Hello,
Some remarkable new findings from a daily survey of around 4,000 teachers in English schools have shown a majority support an end to new faith schools and ending
state funding for faith schools. My analysis of the figures and what they mean for the campaign are our lead story this month. We also cover the latest state
faith school to split over unlawful gender segregation.
August has been a relatively quiet month, allowing us more time to plan ahead on how to build the campaign into a movement. On Sunday (1 September) I gave a talk
on faith schools to Leicester Secular Society and I'll be giving the same talk to a Labour branch meeting and North London Humanists over the next month. We'll
have details to follow. If you'd like a No More Faith Schools presentation for your group, please get in touch.
This month we're urging supporters to do something simple – to share our campaign. We have some template tweets below if you'd like to use them, but any way you
can share the campaign would be appreciated.
Last month's featured campaign action was to share a testimonial. This month we're featuring a
testimonial from a teacher on the increasingly assertive religious ethos of Church of England schools.
Best wishes,
Alastair Lichten
