Since our last email, while former contestant Nira Dookeran announced she is leaving the leadership race for the Green Party of Canada,  our campaign remains as before because the work remains as before: to help grow the party and build the movement we need to confront the billionaire class and fight for regular Canadians in the midst of a worsening climate crisis.

The Party has now determined that *voting dates will remain the same.* The ballot will now feature Mike’s name and “none of these options”.

The deadline to become a member in time to vote is less than a month away! Help build our collective power by asking just three or your friends and family to become members before the October 14th deadline.

*Climate solutions that work for all of us*

Like you, Mike knows the window is closing for us to preserve a safe future for our children and grandchildren. Successive Liberal and Conservative governments have failed to meet the moment we’re in when it comes to the climate crisis. Canada can and should be a global leader, taking decisive action on the climate while creating jobs and wealth at home.

Mike believes we must act decisively and:

* Invest in the rapid scale-up of renewable energy to make Canada a clean energy superpower,

* Build world-class public transit systems so convenient and affordable that families don’t have to be dependent on a car *,*

* Build a modern, resilient, coast to coast to coast national electricity grid so all Canadians can benefit from the clean energy we produce,

* Support mass expansion of regenerative farming and support fishers to adapt to a changing climate,

* Create a permanent, national firefighting force for year-round forest fire monitoring, prevention, and protection,

* End all public subsidies to oil and gas companies, which are mostly foreign owned, and

* Make polluters pay so Canadians aren’t on the hook for the messes corporations make.

Your vote for Mike shows Ottawa that Canadians are serious about taking decisive action on climate.
