These events will feature presentations covering climate crises in Bangladesh and Uzbekistan by photographers Farhana Satu and Zumrad Mirzalieva, respectively, and remarks by Alejandro Martin Rodriguez (fellow in the Sustainability, Climate, and Geopolitics Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace), on 9/22; and reporting from the recent Bhotekoshi flood in Nepal by Uma Bista and Chemi Dorje, photography from Sikkum, India by Kunga Tashi Lepcha, along with remarks from NYC’s Adhikaar, on 9/24. These are storytelling events that you don’t want to miss.
Both evenings will mark a chance to see Magnum Foundation’s current exhibition, Enduring Ecologies, featuring works that bear witness to four communities around the world impacted by environmental crises. They were developed in Magnum Foundation’s Photography Expanded: Heat Fellowship, which supports new photographic storytelling about the climate crisis and the inextricable relationship of communities to land. A zine publication featuring all eighteen projects supported by the Heat Fellowship will also be available at the events.
