Thanks to supporters like you, patients in Trujillo, Peru received sight-saving care while local retina specialists strengthened their surgical skills through an Orbis-supported Hospital-Based Training program.

One of those patients was Irene. Before surgery, her eye condition made everyday activities difficult. She loved cooking, but swelling in her eye kept her from doing some of the simple tasks she enjoyed.

After her vitreoretinal surgery, Irene’s recovery has been smooth and pain-free. Now, she is looking forward to returning to the things she loves with greater comfort and confidence.
