One Nation immigration policy

This week was a massive week from a policy perspective. It is laughable that our opponents accuse us of having no policies. Every week we are producing policies that reflect the priorities of everyday Australians, and this week was no different. Under a One Nation government, we would cut the number of temporary visas by approx. 750,000 over three years. This would lead to net negative migration for three years. After this point, we will cap net migration at 130,000 per year max.

Under One Nation, Australia would be open to the brightest and the best. If you have the skills we need, speak English, want to integrate, and you won’t be bringing dependants who will cost the Australian taxpayer, then very often you will be welcomed. Our new policy targets student visas, the dependants of those on student visas, graduate visas and the dependants of those on other temporary visas. It also targets those who have overstayed their visa and have no right to be in Australia.

Under the uniparty, Australia has become addicted to mass migration. The only way you get over any addiction is through a reset – not by making small tweaks here and there, which is all the uniparty are prepared to do.

Under One Nation, immigration policy will be driven by what is in the best interest of Australians. It will all be about what is best for the quality of life of Australians. Not GDP figures on a spreadsheet.

Labor’s immigration policy

After arguing internally for weeks, Labor finally announced their new immigration policy. This has been driven almost entirely by the rise of One Nation. As expected, it amounted to little more than smoke and mirrors. You didn’t really even need to watch it to know this would be the case.

Under Labor's budget proposals, Australia is expecting to welcome almost 1 million new migrants over the next four years. That is the reality. Under the Labor government, immigration policy is based on what works for the Labor Party, not what works for Australians.

As for the Liberal Party? Well, who knows. We await their plan….

Coordinated establishment attacks

Over the past week or so, the uniparty, along with their friends in the media, have launched multiple attacks on Pauline and One Nation. You can join the dots between the various attacks. They have much in common. Generally, it involves dusting off old video clips and cartoons and then misrepresenting them in the media. Figures from the uniparty are then wheeled out to demand apologies. These latest coordinated attacks show that the uniparty act as one and that they have never been so panicked.

One nation will continue to focus its energy on the Australian people and developing positive policy platforms that address the Australian people's priorities.

Meanwhile, the uniparty is expending their energy either attacking or responding to us. We will not be deterred in our mission to stand up for everyday Australians all over the country. Growing numbers of Australians are seeing these attacks for what they are.

Uniparty latest

There was an extraordinary development this week. Sussan Ley, the former Liberal Party leader, was appointed to the Snowy Hydro board by the Labor government. This is a development of interest for two reasons. Firstly, it shows the extent to which the uniparty exists, with the Labor government looking after senior Liberal Party figures. Secondly, it raises serious questions about the extent to which we can trust the Liberal Party when it comes to supposedly changing their tune on net zero. This is furthered by the video clip that has come to light of Jess Wilson, the Liberal Party Victoria leader, embracing the net zero agenda during her maiden speech.

The uniparty isn’t just a catchy slogan. It is a real thing that has dominated Australian politics for far too long.

Luke Herdegen sworn in

This week Luke was sworn in as the new MP for Secret Harbour in the Western Australian Legislative Assembly. A historic moment. This was the first time we have won a seat in the WA lower house, and it was in what was once considered one of WA Labor’s safest seats. We also won on a fraction of the budget the other parties threw at the by-election.

Luke will work with our two representatives in the WA Upper House to ensure that this was the first victory of many. One Nation are on the front foot in WA. The victory in Secret Harbour makes clear to all One Nation teams across the country what can be achieved through hard work and dedication.

Victoria update

More One Nation candidates were announced this week. Over 60 have so far been made public. Across Victoria, our candidates are hard at work within their communities. They have been given extra encouragement this week by a poll that shows that, far from the establishment attacks denting our popularity, we have actually increased our support in Victoria. Moreover, across all social media platforms, One Nation Victoria is now the number one online in the state. On Facebook, One Nation Victoria is gaining increasing momentum and now has over 50,000 followers. On Instagram, One Nation Victoria is well ahead of Victoria Labor and the Victorian Liberals.

We are still in the foothills of the Victoria campaign, but many of our candidates are only getting started. We are hugely excited about what might be achieved in Victoria over the next couple of months with our fantastic team of candidates.

NSW update

This week One Nation NSW leader, Mike Newman, announced that under a future One Nation government, the pay of senior bureaucrats will be linked to performance. This is a common-sense measure. In the private sector, if you make massive mistakes and perform badly, there are consequences. Why shouldn’t this be the same when you work within government?

Mike has made a strong start since he was announced as our NSW leader, with a key NSW poll this week reinforcing that momentum. One Nation is now neck and neck on 29% of the vote, with the Liberals/Nationals lagging way behind on 18%. A One Nation-led government in NSW is a realistic possibility, and it is what we are striving towards!
