John,
I will never forget the events that took place 19 years ago today. I will never forget where I was when I heard that the Twin Towers had fallen due to attacks from radical Islamic terrorists. And I am sure you remember exactly where you were too, John.
Today, we remember those who sacrificed their lives to serve our great country during one of its darkest times. I will always admire the bravery and heroism of our first responders, police officers, and even civilians who rushed into the line of fire to help rescue fellow Americans. I continue to pray for the families that lost their loved ones on this day.
While September 11, 2001 is certainly a solemn and somber day in our country’s history, it showed us how resilient we are as a nation. We all came together after these tragic events and united under our American flag with a shared identity and values. While this type of unity may seem unattainable in these divisive times, I have faith that a shared sense of patriotism and national pride will overcome all.
I encourage you all to remember all those who sacrificed and put their lives on the line nineteen years ago. As a nation, our strength and faith were tested. But, even after those dark days, the American spirit prevailed.
Thank You,
Mike Turner
