John,

September 11th, 2001 changed our world forever.

Today, with a heavy heart, we remember those we lost 19 years ago. We remember and salute each and every first responder that selflessly risked their lives to save others.

In a time of crisis and terror, over 10,000 volunteers from around the country sprung into action in our nation’s time of need. Family, friends, and neighbors reached out to help one another and the American spirit prevailed over fear.

It is with that same fervor and sense of community that we must continue to come together to uplift one another and persevere in moments of crisis, adversity, and even division. We must recommit to one another, our country, and a future grounded in peace and justice.

We must never forget this day or the lives lost as we strive for a peaceful future.
