Team - Today is the 19th anniversary of September 11th, 2001.

That day changed our nation and the world forever. Those lost on that day will never be forgotten and I’m holding their families in my heart today.

We also remember those who have died in the wars that followed in Afghanistan and Iraq. These wars resulted in thousands more American lives lost, and hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians murdered in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Terrorism is unjust, violence is unjust, bigotry, xenophobia, and religious discrimination are all unjust. As an American of faith I call on everyone to uphold justice as the supreme standard.

For so many, today is a day of reflection. It is my hope that we take today as an opportunity to remember those who we have lost, to show compassion to those around us, and to act against injustice and discrimination whenever we see it.

I’m in this fight with you,

Qasim
