Friends, the Declaration of Independence closes with a promise: “We mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.” That's a big thing to give up. Putting your country before yourself is real patriotism and requires making a conscious decision — a decision to devote ourselves to serving our neighbors and bettering our future. But my congresswoman in New Hampshire, Maggie Goodlander, has made that very decision time after time. She's sworn an oath to uphold our Constitution — not as a Democrat or as a Republican, but as an American. She treats it as a sacred obligation. Last year, Maggie stood up for her fellow servicemembers and the rule of law. The president threatened her by name, and tried to have her indicted. Maggie did not waver. Now, this president and his Republican allies want to see Maggie unseated, and they're spending a large sum to make it happen.
