Let me take a minute to tell you why I am strongly supporting Dr. Abdul El-Sayed for Senate in this extremely important midterm election.
We are living in an unprecedented and dangerous moment in American history. At a time when the very rich are getting richer while working families struggle, the same old, same old establishment politics and establishment policies are no longer good enough.
We need change. We need real change. And that's what Abdul is all about.
Unlike Donald Trump, Abdul understands that you don't cut Medicaid and throw 15 million Americans off the healthcare they have in order to give huge tax breaks to billionaires. As a medical doctor, he has seen firsthand how our current healthcare system is broken and dysfunctional. He knows that healthcare is a human right and that we need to pass Medicare for All so that we can guarantee healthcare to every man, woman, and child in our country.
Abdul understands that unchecked artificial intelligence and robotics are a danger to the environment, our kids, our democracy, our economy, and the very future of humanity. He knows that we need to stand up to the big tech oligarchs and that we need a pause on advanced AI development until we establish clear safety standards.
Abdul knows that while 60% of our people are living paycheck to paycheck, spending tens of billions of dollars on illegal wars overseas is wrong and not what the American people want. He will work to end Donald Trump's unconstitutional war in Iran, end military aid to the extremist Netanyahu government in Israel, and invest in our schools, our hospitals, and our communities.
Abdul believes we must never accept a corrupt campaign finance system that allows billionaires to undermine our democracy and buy elections. We need to end Citizens United and get super PACs out of the political process and move to public funding of elections.
These are tough times for our country. Working families need strong representation to take on the power of the billionaire class.
