The New World Screwworm — a parasitic fly whose larvae burrow into the living
flesh of warm-blooded animals, causing severe tissue destruction and death if
untreated, and which was eradicated from the United States through one of

to American soil with 49 U.S. cases recorded this year. The United States
Department of Agriculture is using the Sterile Insect Technique program that
