Hi John,
it’s Winnie Brinks — Jocelyn Benson’s running mate and the Democratic
nominee for Lieutenant Governor of Michigan.

I wanted to take a minute and tell you a little more about myself, but
first, I have to ask: [ [link removed] ]this is one of the most competitive races in the
country, and we’re going up against millions from the DeVos family and
MAGA mega-donors. We have one week until early ballots drop, and we need
to reach undecided voters before our opponents do. Will you chip in
$10
or
$25
today to spread our message and keep Michigan blue?

I’m no stranger to a tough fight. When I first ran for office, I was a
write-in candidate.

Truth be told, I wasn’t planning on running, but after a shady political
trick left Grand Rapids without a voice fighting for us in Lansing, I knew
I couldn’t just sit on the sidelines.

So I stepped up. I knocked on my neighbors’ doors rain-or-shine, talked to
fellow parents in the school pick up line, and made sure everyone knew
what was at stake.

That’s me knocking doors in 2012.

Talking to voters is still one of my favorite parts of any campaign!

My message was simple: I’m not a politician. I’m first and foremost a mom.
I’m running to represent my neighbors in the way they expect and deserve.

We ended up winning by a landslide because we offered Michiganders a
choice: more of the same failed politics-as-usual or someone who will
fight tooth and nail to get things done for you.

It’s the same choice Michiganders have this November. Do you want a
governor who will rubber-stamp every one of Donald Trump’s dangerous
ideas, or do you want a governor who will fight to make Michigan a better
place for everyone?

I think the choice is pretty clear, if you do too: [ [link removed] ]will you please
make your first generous contribution
today?
