Tom Tiffany has voted with Donald Trump 100 percent of the time. That isn't my characterization of him. That's his voting record.

And he's got the money to talk over it. At the end of July he was sitting on close to $5 million, a good chunk of it from the Uihleins and Diane Hendricks. Restoration PAC gets funding from the Uihlein family and has spent over $4 million on TV ads that target David Crowley. 

Here's what eight years in this job taught me. Wisconsin doesn't decide anything by much. Our last three presidential races were all inside a single point. David won his own primary by about half a point. The latest Marquette poll shows a tie with his opponent. I've been there, folks. This is when your support counts the most.

I support David because he can do the work, James. He led the largest county in the state. He lowered property taxes and connected with those who didn’t vote for him. That last part is harder than it sounds. I know because I spent eight years doing it with a legislature that opposed progress.

Every budget they sent me, I took my veto pen to the worst of it. Come January, I don't have that pen anymore. Somebody else does. That's what's on the ballot on November 3rd.
