Today we remember the lives lost nearly 2 decades ago. The terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001 changed our country forever. But through the ashes and the rubble, Americans united in our grief and our resolve to protect America; to defend her against those who wish to do her harm.
As a Green Beret, I spent most of the years after 9/11 fighting for our country around the world and rooting out the very evil that sought to destroy our way of life that day. I remember those lives lost on 9/11. And I remember my brothers and sisters I fought with who sacrificed their lives to ensure that evil would never visit America’s shores again. Their sacrifices inspire me every day to be worthy for their sake, their families sake.
Today we face a new and different enemy. One that has caused our country to unite once again in pursuit of another common enemy in the Coronavirus. 9/11 reminds us that even in the face of loss and adversity, we as a people will overcome if we stand together as Americans.
