What to Know: Today marks the 19th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks.

The TPPF Take: We will not forget the attacks, nor the resolve they instilled in all of America to protect freedom.

“America is the greatest experiment in civil society in the history of the world,” says TPPF’s Kevin Roberts. “And what an affront to what you and I believe, that 19 years ago, a handful of Islamic radicals took it upon themselves to take the lives of more than 3,000 Americans. I would encourage you to take a few moments today to remember the victims of that attack, pray for their families, and remember the heroism of the first responders.”

More Than Your House?

What to Know: Despite the Affordable Care Act’s promise of bringing down health insurance premiums, coverage can now cost more than your house payment—the equivalent of a new car every year. And that’s before you receive any care.

The TPPF Take: President Obama promised that the average family would save $2,500 per year on insurance premiums under the ACA.

“Instead, premiums increased from $2,524 for an individual to $12,040 for a family headed by a policy holder over 60,” says TPPF’s David Balat. “In general, the ACA increased premiums by about 60 percent. It’s time to put patients back in charge of their health care, through price transparency and other free market reforms.”

Real Reform

What to Know: President Trump signed an executive order in May that lightens the regulatory burden on Americans.

The TPPF Take: Regulatory reform will help revive and restore the U.S. economy.

“The Executive Order should help empower people to be protected from undue, expensive, unclear regulatory overreach by the federal government that costs Americans trillions of dollars over time,” says TPPF’s Vance Ginn.
