I'll be honest, asking for donations isn't exactly my favorite part of the job. But in a race as competitive as ours, every donation – no matter the amount – makes a big difference.
This week it got harder. Donald Trump's PAC reserved $1.7 million in ads to defeat me, on top of the nearly $12 million national Republicans had already lined up against us.
We have an urgent mid-month fundraising deadline tonight at midnight.
So I wouldn't ask if it wasn't important: Can you pitch in $20, $10, or even just $1 right away to keep us on track and make sure we're prepared for what's coming?
You can use this secure link to pitch in: secure.actblue/mfc/260915-x17
That money keeps our organizers in the field and our own message on the air, so their ads don't run unanswered. A few dollars here and there from real people make it all possible.
I've made tough calls in Congress because I work for Southwest Washington, not special interests or some outside agenda. I'm proud of that, and I'm not changing who I am. That's exactly why they're spending this kind of money to get rid of me.
If you’re still with me, chip in here.
Thanks for being in this with me.
