Friends of 350 Chicago,
We're looking forward to having you join us (virtually) tomorrow morning Saturday, Sept 12th for our September Monthly Meeting as we share two great opportunities...
First, an engaging discussion of the new film "Seasons of Change on Henry's Farm", with the film's director & producer Ines Sommer and co-producer Terra Brockman.
"Seasons of Change on Henry's Farm" hits close to home for many Illinoisans. This documentary follows organic farmer Henry Brockman as he grapples with the impacts of a changing climate on his family farm in central Illinois. (See the movie trailer and view the film.)
Ines and Terra welcome your questions.
Then our own Sylvia Panek will officially kick off our Zero Emissions Day 2020 fundraiser!
Since 2008, Zero Emissions Day has been challenging citizens of the world to live one day with little or no fossil fuel usage, "giving our planet one day off a year" from oil, gas, and coal emissions. To commemorate the day, 350 Chicago has organized a peer-to-peer fundraiser through Give Lively.
Sylvia will explain peer-to-peer giving and then demonstrate just how quick and easy it is to set up your own peer-to-peer fundraising page which you can then share on social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram).
We will also share updates on recent efforts of the 350 Chicago team, including our City of Chicago fossil fuel divestment campaign.
See you tomorrow!
